It was at a medium sized bar, maybe around 80 people there. Didn't mic my amp because it wasn't really needed. Used my 1x12 cab.
For a change I used my SSS AllParts Strat. It's making much sweeter sounds with this tiny tube head than it's ever done before.
Put the master around 3 o' clock, and adjusted the volume with the preamp gain. Dialed in some extra mids and bass and went a bit conservative on the treble.
Since we played a lot of covers I used a Marshall Jackhammer to get more variety tonewise. Had my Memory Toy and my Boss GE7 in the loop for a mid/volume boost for solos.
It was pretty loud actually and didn't suffer with headroom at all, not even close!
Compared with my Cube 60, the detail in the sound is incredible. It's clearer yet warmer at the same time.
I normally use humbuckers, I don't really like super bright sounds, but through this rig the Strat sounds SO warm and full I was laughing during the sound check!
What a change it is, to play with a tube amp live.
The mids have a warmth that makes me grin as I think about it, now.
I've never sounded better, man.
The other guitar player in my band uses a Marshall MG250 and after this gig, he's decided to sell it and get a Vox Night Train.
I love my Tweaker!
