i think it means the gibson (24 3/4) neck........yes vernon reid used them some time ago......a friend of mine has a hammer chaparral like that one and even though i haven't got the chance to try it for myself every time i hear him using it in various gigs he has the fullest fatest sound i have ever heard(despite the floyd....).....so i guess it should be mahogany???It really looks like a good deal....but unfortunately he doesn't ship to europe.......

Re: Hamer chaparral......

set neck hamer chaparral's are mahogany body and neck and they sustain forever!!!!!!!!!! i have a bolt on neck chaparral w/mahogany body and maple neck and a floyd rose i put a JB in it and it rocks !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Re: Hamer chaparral......

I have two setneck Chaparrals. An '86 shortscale with ebony board and boomers and an '87 longscale with rosewood board and dots.

Both guitars have Mahogany bodies and Maple necks.

These guitars do not have mahogany necks.

Both guitars sound play and feel awesome.

Re: Hamer chaparral......

i remember some of those chapparal models coming with EMG pickups in HSS configuration.....do you know if they were using the 81 or the 85 humbucker at the bridge?
