Wow, solid quilt guitars DO exist!

I bet it weighs a ton though (although I seem to remember someone saying quilted maple is lighter than normal maple as the quilt means it has less density?)

Nice....just what I need to pour gas on the GAS fire! LOL

I dunno, I love the way engraved pickups look like on nickel or gold covers.
Even more than lettering, I'd like to see things like Rosevine or ornate borders.
Also, I just noticed those pushbutton coil taps on the curlytop. Where do you get those?

It's not a huge secret. The Ultimate humbuckers are definitely in the PAF-realm, but voiced for a particular Hamer guitar called the Artist Ultimate. Also, they're serial-numbered to match the serial number of the guitar. Plus, they come with a special hang-tag signed by Seymour that tells the story.

My guess is that less than 50 sets have been made so far.

Most of the guitars pictured went to Wilcutt in Lexington KY...man i gotta get down there one of these days...and probably will when i get enough money finally together to buy one!

I used to live in Lexington...I went to college at UK. Anyways, he's always had a great shop. I felt that he's always been over priced, too. When you go to the back of the store, he has some of the guitars in a glass case...those are the best.

Actually, Hamer uses broadleaf maple when they do maple guitar bodies. It's more porous than hard rock maple so it's probably lighter.

The Monaco Super Pro model has a chambered body anyway.

I know, I have one,though mine doesn't have the cool custom features that the solid quilt one has.

But I think the stock Custom Custom bridge pickup is a better fit with my style and sound anyway.

I took another look at the quilted one. That's one piece of wood! :smack: And the rear control cavity cover also indicates it's not hollow like other Super Pro's. If you look at the back of mine, there's no control cavity cover.
