Hamer Korina Artist p90

Re: Hamer Korina Artist p90

I think Evan told me a hot neck and custom bridge, but I really can't remember. I've got had put that A5 Antiquity neck that I built at UGD in my Les Paul to go with a "normal" A2 Antiquity bridge. I've got a set of Lollars sitting around collecting dust. I'll probably put the A2 Antiquity bridge back into the Les Paul, put the A5 Ant. UGD neck pup and either the lollar bridge or the Hot in the bridge spot.

We'll just have to see how she sounds when she gets here. My old Guild Blues 90 had a Hot/Custom combo in it and it sounded awesome.

nice looking guitar!! how does that a5 neck pup balance with the a2 bridge?

Re: Hamer Korina Artist p90

just fine, just fine.

I, err.. with MJ reaching over my shoulder to hurry me up, put it together, but had MJ underwind it about 5% or so.

allegedly vintage fat.... i've been led to believe that change took place some where in teh late 90's.

In the early 90's Hamer necks were very thin. Not sure if they were Ibanez Wizard thin, but they were definitely the thinnest ever for Hamer. Currently they offer two neck carves, the vintage and the modern. The vintage is supposed to be comparable to the 50's Les Pauls. From what I understand, the modern carve is quite a bit thinner than the vintage, but not as thin as the early 90's necks. I think I heard a comparison to a Jackson Soloist neck as far as feel. But I've not played a Hamer with the modern carve so I'm not for sure.

Either way, that's a killer axe you've got there.

Re: Hamer Korina Artist p90

Well, if it's too thin, I'll be selling it immediately. I could probably put it on ebay and make a few hundred.
