Hard Blues in G

Hi there, it's been a long time!

I was actually moding the Ibanez Roadstar II I bought from Ken (kmcguitars)... now that it gets more to my liking, I thought of posting this little clip. The backtrack was given to me buy another member but I can't remember who. Sorry. I've had it for quite a while.

Believe it or not, this was recorded with a Marshall MG10CD and my Behringer direct box... I think Marshall really nailed there big brothers tone with these little amp. They sell for the price of a pedal and are really fun... don't laugh, just listen to the clip! :D

Can you guess the HB I use on the bridge? I routed the pickguard to put a full size HB in the bidge and neck.

There you go:

Hard Blues in G

Enjoy!

Re: Hard Blues in G

Thanks man!

Well, it may very well be, it does sound a lot like a Super D... but it's a Duncan.

JB, then?

I said Super D because I remember you were looking for one in the trading post not too long ago, and I know they can sound quite a bit brighter in Strat types.

Re: Hard Blues in G

Yep, JB... the JB sounds amazing with 250K pots in a Maple neck guitar. I'm really surprised at how much I like it, because I did not like the JB with 500K pots in a LP.

Re: Hard Blues in G

Thanks Rid! I'm amazed at how good a tone I can get from a totally crapo set up...

Re: Hard Blues in G

fantastic piece of music.

do you have the backing track for it?

Thanks! Yes, I'll post it on my Soundclick page if you want it. I shortened it a bit cause the original lasted forever. I only have the short version.

Re: Hard Blues in G

Thanks man... this is pretty much my rock style in a nutshell. It's funny I always seem to sound the same whatever pickup, amp or guitar I use... maybe I've been overrating gear in the last couple of years. I should have searched less and played more :D

Re: Hard Blues in G

Most-excellent riffing my friend! :smokin: It certainly sounds JB-ish, and that little amp kicks out some nice crunch. Very cool.

Re: Hard Blues in G

Thanks so much Stevo... I still can't believe the positive comments I receive from such great players like you guys. You were the ones who actually make me want to keep playing and get better... You really make my day! :)

Re: Hard Blues in G

Thanks Hoss! I wish I could find a small Marshall tube amp that sound as good and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. But that just doesn't exist. I think I'll go back to the Blues Jr. too. It sounded killer with my MI Audio CrunchBox.

Re: Hard Blues in G

I'm so happy that Guitar found it's way into your hands.:D I knew she was a player,But I couldn't get any tones like that out of her. Like I said the right Guitar in the right hands makes a world of Difference.:) Glad your enjoying it.:smokin:

Re: Hard Blues in G

Yeah, I'm a bucker guy and I had to try it with buckers. I'm glad I did. I'll experiment a little more, she's quite bright so I'll slap a couple of DMZs in there just to see if I can make it a little fatter. Great buy really, though I have to admit I thought about selling it when it had single coils. I'm glad I found the courage to route it to HBs. I'll make myself a brand new pickguard next week. I'll post picks of her when the lifting's done :D

The Single coils in that guitar where kinda weak and bright. I was temped to put a Lil' 59er in it. Glad your having fun with it.:) Post some more clips and pics when your done.
