Hardtail strat, trembucker?

I've got a hardtail strat with a duncan invader. I want to swap it out for another duncan. Do I need a trembucker? I'm thinking I do but I want to run it by you guys.

Re: Hardtail strat, trembucker?

if it's a modern USA made fender hardtail it has a 2 3/16" string spacing (55.5625") so yes, you need a trembucker.

I agree. I have Trembuckers in all of my Strats with bridge humbuckers. All four! The E strings sound weak to me if they're not centered over the polepieces and the solution is: TREMBUCKERS. :) Lew

Just be advised that Fender did not use trembucker spacing on Lone Star strats (particularly Duncan Pearly Gates +). I do not use trembucker spacing on hardtail strats with narrow spacing (with the vintage spacing I'd go for a trembucker tho).
