Has anyone installed a Min-ETune system?

I am thinking about putting a Min-ETune on my Les Paul Traditional Pro. Has anyone done an install with these yet? I am wondering how easy it is to fit these on a LP that did not come with them.

Re: Has anyone installed a Min-ETune system?

Just use two guitars at once. That way if one goes out of tune you can jump to the other.

Wow, that Mini ETune is some real innovation. This is not the 2000's anymore. With all the people picking up guitars and making viral YouTube videos, I can't believe all guitars don't have them by now.

YOU TAKE CARE OF THE PLAYING—
WE’LL HANDLE THE TUNING

. . . Adjust the tuning pegs manually, turn on the Min-ETuneTM to tune all six strings to perfect pitch automatically, or select any of 12 popular alternate tunings (including six you can program yourself). You can even adjust your guitar’s tunings to match other instruments. But most importantly, it sounds the same—Min-ETuneTM works by tuning the physical strings, not by digital trickery that degrades your tone.

Save time and money in the studio, keep the flow going onstage, enhance your creativity with new tunings, and more. You take care of the playing—we’ll handle the tuning.

Speed
Inspiration has no patience—and with Min-ETuneTM, you don’t need patience either. Just push a button, strum, and your perfectly tuned guitar is ready to rock, write, or record. Or wreak havoc.

Sure, you can tune a guitar. But you’re only human.

. . .

Spend time playing, not tuning. (Your audience will thank you, too.)

Creativity
Alternate tunings used to be a pain. Min-ETuneTM gets you in and out of 12 custom tunings in seconds. Even tune to that ever-so-slightly-flat piano everyone hates.

. . .

Let Min-ETuneTM give you new ways to express yourself.

Choice
. . .

Do yourself a favor: Go to your Gibson dealer and experience the magic of Min-ETuneTM. The longer you wait, the more you’ll regret not having done it sooner.

...well, that's just words to live by. Sounds like Warren Miller. If you don't do it this year, you'll be a year older when you do.

I dont want auto tuners. But what i would like is machine powered tuners that i can tune up and down from the controls of my guitar.

I would like a hot babe in a bikini and boots to come out, hand me a cold beer then tune my guitar while I sip for a few.

I have three guitars made from Warmoth that I added Tronical Tuners to - and they continue to work great.
The key is making sure you follow the exact dimensions when you order the tuner because they have one for each of the major head stocks.
The charge holds for a long time. Great on stage. When alone at home or the office, I still don't mind tuning the old fashioned way. These days the old fashioned way might mean using a digital tuner of some sort.

It's definitely a serious investment. They are certainly clever, and the latest models look better than previous versions.

I considered dropping some coin on a set for my new build, but it is to much for me at the moment.

I've had a drop d tuner on a guitar for years, and I've also got a JTVariax which is quite a lot of fun. It's a great gigging guitar where I can change tunings and guitar models for individual songs.

I may consider these in the future if the cost comes down.

Ok. So I've ordered myself a set tonight. Spent some time looking at these on various sites/videos.

Just let off a load of GAS..

I'll update when I put them on.

Re: Has anyone installed a Min-ETune system?

I ordered the 'C' set. Is going on a licensed Strat neck. Got the template guide from their website, and checked it against the guitar.

Just watched a demo where the player jams out every preset tuning on a Taylor acoustic. Pretty awesome stuff. Maybe one for my Yamaha acoustic will arrive further down the line.

Re: Has anyone installed a Min-ETune system?

I just ordered one of these. I figure i will let it do all the work for me.

Re: Has anyone installed a Min-ETune system?

I do hope that this isn't a tronical that has evolved into something else. Who knows where that'll end up. Is there an android app for detecting Energon readings?

Re: Has anyone installed a Min-ETune system?

I hate that Gibson has installed them on most of their 2015 guitars. I can understand that they're trying to push a bit of technology on their classic instruments, but timely parts just date and cheapen the overall guitar. Have you seen the horrible brass zero fret nut they've started using on Gibsons?

I've tried the Min-Etune system, and while it's not a bad invention, I've found it to be inaccurate sometimes, probably because the factory nut wasn't cut perfectly in all honesty.
But they can also run out of juice at the worst time, and I can see them becoming a repair issue over years of use, especially because players will inadvertently turn the key when it's in auto mode.

I don't hate the system, but I wish it were an aftermarket only item. I'm assuming a lot of Gibson buyers will be removing them, so maybe a bunch of Gibson spec ones will hit the used market.

Re: Has anyone installed a Min-ETune system?

Well, I got my tuners today, and installation was a doddle.
I've been familiarising myself with the controls and calibrating presets etc today.

First impressions are that it is very good indeed.

I've not seen any problems with tuning and bending strings etc.

I've tested this plugging the guitar - Tele Parts build, into my Peterson Stomp Classic into my 18w clone.

When I made the guitar, I installed an LSR size Earvana nut when and set the slots properly. I also put nut sauce on every point of contact when I do a set up.

I must admit that I was skeptical as to the accuracy of the tronical system before using this, but this was unfounded.

I've tested the tuning again and again with the strobe, after setting the accuracy to its highest on the Tronical system. Its really accurate. The strobe barely moves.

Setting the accuracy to 1hz does slow the tuning process, but it is still much faster than tuning it yourself with conventional tuners. I've settled on 2hz for the moment. It still sits almost perfectly on the strobe, but is quicker.

To put this in context, this is still more accurate than the average pedal tuner can display.

The build quality is exceptional. It is solid and it really works. The battery charged in about 45 minutes.
I've been knocking out all kinds of songs today using all kinds of tunings. It's great fun. I will use this live. I've got no concerns about it.

The only slightly disconcerting thing to watch is the knobs moving the opposite way to standard tuning knobs (the posts work as normal).

It just looks a bit odd when it tunes slightly flat and then up to pitch with the knobs turning the wrong way. Not a criticism though - they work perfectly.

That is my initial mini review. Thoroughly impressed!
