Has anyone tried s2amps Blues Jr. Mods?

Website seems pretty appealing-(as most do).

I like the size and portability of the BJr., and think it would be a great little amp with some mods, but for 500 additional bucks I wonder if it's a deal or not.

That's a ton of money. I happen to like the Blues Junior's sound on it's own. Just recap it, retube it, respeaker (?) it and maybe throw in new trannies.

S2 has a great reputation for transformers, etc. Big participant in the 18 Watt community.

He's not selling a "mod" to the Blues Jr. He's keeping the cab, chassis, transformers (why, at least for the OT?), and speaker (again, why?), and making a whole new PTP amp of your choice off that menu. For $469 plus the cost of a used Blues Jr. and whatever extras you want to add, seems like a good deal for most of the clones on the list. Frankly, you probably would have a hard time finding a cab & chassis for less than the cost of a used Blues Jr.

Then again, a Blues Jr. with a new speaker is a heck of a good amp for what it is and what it costs. I'd sort of hate to see one cannabalized...
