Has anyone tried the Vox StompLab IG Modeling Guitar Effect Processor?

Re: Has anyone tried the Vox StompLab IG Modeling Guitar Effect Processor?

I have at one point, but I didn't have a chance to noodle with it too much. I liked what I heard though. Kind of want one.

Do you recall if the controls were intuitive? My friend isn't a techie. ;)

Artie, I've got an old desktop tonelab if you'd like to give it a spin. Really easy to use and sounds great, its a good practice tool.

We sell them at my shop. They're great little multi-effects. We usually have them and a similarly priced Digitech something. The Vox outsells the Digitech quite easily. It sounds good and it's cheap.

Nope. Neither am I for the most part. :)

I'd love to. But, let me pay round trip shipping.

Is that "nope", it isn't intuitive? Or "nope", you aren't a techie? Or both? :D

All of these units work pretty much the same, which is, in my opinion, not super intuitive. But if you've used one before, they're all pretty much the same. Banking through presets is pretty straight forward, but making your own and getting back to them can have a bit of a learning curve, but it's really no worse than Zoom, Digitech, or anything else.

Yeah. I get that. But I think he wants "knobs". I'm going to try to hook him up with two or three pedals that fit his "basic" needs.

Re: Has anyone tried the Vox StompLab IG Modeling Guitar Effect Processor?

Sorry. I'm not much of a techie.

Re: Has anyone tried the Vox StompLab IG Modeling Guitar Effect Processor?

Artie, pm your address and I'll send it out when I get a chance.

Re: Has anyone tried the Vox StompLab IG Modeling Guitar Effect Processor?

Vox/Korg guitar units are something I would buy blind. I have never seen them **** up. Somebody with taste and actual guitar knowledge is running the show there.

Re: Has anyone tried the Vox StompLab IG Modeling Guitar Effect Processor?

Yeah. Someone here was talking about a little Vox "bedroom" amp, with modeling, that they said sounded amazing. I wonder if this is the same circuitry in a box.

Re: Has anyone tried the Vox StompLab IG Modeling Guitar Effect Processor?

Yes, correct...basically the Stomplab is the amps/ cabs of the Vox modeling amps plus all the effects in 24bit quality...arranged into groups of 10 similar patches and labeled with names like jazz, blues, pop, rock, heavy rock, metal etc...runs on batteries or 9volt adapter...a bit picky with some adapters but fairly easy to get sorted out. I am describing the Stomplab IIG, so perhaps some generational differences.
