Has anyone tried these universal audio amp sim pedals?

I just have heard reviews from people I trust who said that the Dream pedal was absolutely fantastic. It is on my radar now.

I heard he had gone digital, but I didn't know to what. I just figured he went to Fractal.

That article includes a little side remark about how they're using a Fractal for 'additional amp simulations and effects'....that smells like a guy using a Fractal but getting an endorsement with a pedal company, or am I just jaded?

Thats the way I read it.

“I'm using UA Ruby, Dream and Woodrow amp pedals with some Fractal Axe-Fx units handling additional amp emulation and FX.”

Fractal handling additional sounds like the UAs are primary with Fractal covering other.

Don’t think the guy needs to be selling himself for endorsements at this point.

I dont think it's him worried about the endorsements, I think it's him not wanting to be disingenuous about what he's using.

I'd really like to try the Dream. I wonder why the pedals don't have an additional XLR out...

Would be nice if they had "channel switching" when linked together. Activating one would de-activating others (instead of on-off on each pedals).

Picked up a Dream 65 about a month ago. It is so good that it even has the difficulties with humbuckers that the blackface Princeton Reverb has. It is accurate to a fault. Takes a lot of finesse to get dialed in just like the original amp. When you get thru the learning curve it really is a dream.

Since this thread, I bought the Dream as well, and it sounds and responds like my Deluxe. This is my favorite of the handful of 'Deluxe in a box' pedals (Boss, etc).

I was just minutes before pulling the trigger for my first all tube amp, and probably I will because I feel in love with its sound when tried it, but I feel intrigued by this. I don't play in venues, just with friends and family parties. What will a person like me who wants to enjoy the "amp in the room sound" would miss if I played lets say a UA Lion into a FRFR like Fender FR-12 for example?

I have never played one, but I have played along side a guy who used a tweed one that sounded pretty great. Granted, you could give this guy a Bullet Strat that was out of tune and missing a string or two and it would still sound better than most.

I think that rig would sound pretty much like the one it is modeling.
