If so, how do you like it? I'm looking at a single 12" speaker to mic in my isolation box. If you have any other idea on another one possibly better, or whatever post it here. Thanks.

Re: Has anyone used one of these?

Probably MDF although I read somewhere that they were using ply baffles in their cabs now, with MDF shell and back panel. Don't know if it matters to you that/if it's MDF. If it's the newer speaker (Turbosound I think), they are supposedly not terrible. I haven't heard one. I'm guessing it's cheap?

I don't have experience with that Bugera but I do with an MDF cabinet. I don't think MDF cabs are as terrible sounding as some people say they are. But there are different grades of MDF. In general, MDF is denser and "deader" so there is less coloration of the sound ... or at least, a different coloration because of the different resonances of the cabinet. But, the vast majority of the sound is still the speaker. You wont mistake a greenback for something else because it's in a MDF cab. But they don't travel well ... ply dings where MDF can crack. MDF doesn't like water and it's heavy. I have a big MDF 4x12. I got it cheap (it needed work) and ended up building a ply baffle and back panel for it (I think the ply baffle was an improvement). It has 4 WGS speakers in it and I still have it because it sounds great. Nobody would know it was MDF. But it doesn't go anywhere, it stays in the house.

But honestly, I wouldn't go out of my way to buy a new one (because of the other negatives that I mentioned) unless it was all I could afford. If that's the situation you are in, then give it a shot. But, if you end up having to do a speaker swap, it may not end up being the inexpensive deal that it seemed like when you bought it. It money were tight, personally, I'd probably look for well regarded 1X12 on the used market first.

I've got a straight Bugera 4x12 (200 watts). It's MDF with a ply baffle and the speakers are great. Needs some break in..initially it sounds thin/fizzy, but crank your amp a few times and give it a week or so..it really opens up.

Nicely balanced w/nice mids (rich & fat but not honky) & deep firm bass. It's pretty loud & sustains forever...no fizz & a singing sweet top. In other words...nothing to complain about haha. I often play my amp's through a Marshall 1960b (practice/gigs) and don't hear a huge jump in sound quality and/or massive improvement. In fact, a little tweaking and I can get it to sound just like my Bugera :D.

I'd at least check it out ..they're built solid & sound great. I think mine has the "vintage voiced" speakers...not sure about that though.

Im looking for something fairly inexpensive for the church to purchase to keep the cost down from buying a head and one of these....It is going in an isolation box under stage so no moisture around to affect it and its got a constant airflow under there also.

I can see the new Bugera ad campaign now.. Why waste time tweaking your Marshall to sound like a Bugera? When you can use the real thing...... BUGERA!

Re: Has anyone used one of these?

I know that Peavey has a 1X12 for a little less and Blackstar for a little more. But, I assume, in that price range, they are probably MDF cabinets as well. Seismic audio has 1x12's in a few different styles for $150, shipped. They are ply cabinets and pretty decent. But they are unloaded, so you'd need a speaker.

Aside from those, the Bugera sounds like it will suit your purpose.

Im hopefully going to be using it with a Orange Micro Terror with my pedal board.....Hope it will do the job I need it to do on Sunday mornings and rehearsals
