Re: Have you been Spinafied?

Yep....Played through your TS9 for at least a half hour or more....Sounded amazing! I put a new battery into your TS9,but I forgot to put the original Maxell battery with your pedal! :smack: Do you want me to mail the battery seperately to you? :yell:

Nah I don't care about the battery. I have to pick a few up anyway, I killed the one in my Boss DD-3 the other night too.

Re: Have you been Spinafied?

Spina saved my '79 MXR distortion + from the garbage can. it was buzzy and sounded like crap at first and now it has some real great tones to be had from it. although it's not my kind of pedal since i'm a high gain junky it does do some killer classic rock tones!!

Re: Have you been Spinafied?

A while back I had a DS-1 modded by John, and I still love it to this day (it gets used almost daily). Mr. Spina also recently (like earlier this week) helped me out a great deal, bringing my DL-4 back to life. At the same time I sent him a TS7 tubescreamer to mod, and I can't wait until these pedals arrive!!!

John is an asset to this community. We are lucky to have someone with the rare combination of talent, humility, and compassion to help us to fulfill our tone dreams.

Thanks Tom....Hey.let's just hope we got your DL4 fixed right? That's what I'm worried about? You'll really like the TS7 alot...It's got a bit more compression than a TS9 but the "boost" switch option is very cool on the TS7 after the mods...You'll notice the pedal has alot more balls and gain and it isn't anemic like the stock version...The TS7 and the TS5 are the real sleeper pedals in the Ibanez line..The TS7 edges out the TS5 because of the boost switch and the locking controls...

You may see your pedals today Tom? Let me know how they work for you..We may have to flip flop 2 wires on your DL4 if you can't power it up...Thanks again brother...

Re: Have you been Spinafied?

my name is Curly, and I'm a Spinaholic

actually, I might get the prize:

  • 2 Boss DS-1s
  • 2 Boss SD-1s
  • Ibanez TS7
  • Maxon OD9
  • Vox 847 wah
  • Vox 848 wah

one of my regrets is that I'm not playing them enough :(

when I do though, I can't help but think that the tones would sound great recorded

darn, another project

John's stuff is tasty, pro level mods ;)

Thanks buddy....I probably did the most pedal mods for you brother, and you were one of the first on the forums I did mods for...Midnite Man has a bunch of stuff,as does Lew,but you've got them beat buddy....They make great door stops and paperweights also...Never forget those uses... :smack: :laugh2: Don't forget about our buddy Sam and his pedals which you were nice enough to tell your buddy about the mods....You've always been so nice to me Curly!

I worked on your Flanger? Wow! What did I do with that one? I normally stay away from time based effects pedals! :) Had to be a repair?

Fixed it and upgraded something in it. It is far clearer than it ever was before.
