Having lots of fun with my assortment of cheapo pedals.

Here's how I'm running as of now:

Guitar -> Boss CE2 -> Joyo Sweet Baby -> Joyo US Dream -> EHX Metal Muff Top Boost -> Amp.
EHX Memory Toy in the loop.

Pretty much every tone that I need is there, minus a tremelo or a Leslie cabinet sort of sound.

The Sweet Baby sounds incredible when ripping big chords a la The Who and for mellow leads too. Insanely dynamic.
The US Dream does a great heavy Marshall sound, I'd dare to say it's almost Bogner-voiced. It's that particular kind of modded Marshall sound.
And the biggest Metal Muff does all the American voiced heavy sounds I ask for, all those dry, tight brutal sounds are all right there.
The Chorus adds some texture (but I don't really need it TBH, I might replace it) and the delay gives a volume boost as well as doing it's thing so it's good.
When playing live I drop a EQ pedal in the loop too, just in case I need some more. And I really need a tuner pedal somewhere...

Tone doesn't have to be expensive, folks.

Now I gotta go write some more songs with all this stuff...

The Sweet Baby is by far my favorite pedal on my board. I could replace most of what's on there with something similar and be fine, but couldn't live without the Sweet Baby (or the MXR Carbon Copy).

My joyo sweet baby is in the postage office right now... picking it up this afternoon.

So any more cheap pedal tips?

Mooer Pure Boost is an excellent boost pedal. I bought it at the same time as a Boss BD-2 Blues Driver and the combo sounds amazing. BD-2 only for 11 o' clock rhythm crunch, and awesome lead tones with the Pure Boost kicked in.

It seems like about 15 years ago, everyone started getting the notion that pedals weren't good unless they were expensive. There's always been plenty of great pedals for $30 - $100.

Only had mine a couple of weeks, but I have to agree it's a great pedal. Also love the SD Twin Tube Classic SFX-03, but it wasn't cheap.

Cheap? You mean "not boutique" right?

The US Dream and the Metal Muff w/ Top Boost are that top of my Dirt want list.

I dig your filthy stylings there Diego!

Use both a digidelay and digiverb both which I got practiacally new for about $50 each. The modulated delay is nice and my next pedal to replace it will be something along the lines of a Flashback x4 which is over 4 times the price. The digiverb isn't as nice but fills reverb needs for the cost. I like the sound of my Mooer Black Secret just need to replace the footswitch and have a Mooer Ensemble King on its way which from clips sounds great for the money. Joyo wise I have a tremolo (alright but limited) and an Ultimate Octave (after a quick mod where I swapped the direction of the caps it sounds great).
I dig cheap gear and most of my board is mass produced (old boss pedals, mooer, joyo and digitech) with the only exception being as Wampler Pinnacle which is a pretty nice distortion pedal and the pedal I have had the longest.
Anyone that hasn't used old boss stuff (secondhand stuff that isn't ridiculous in price), Mooer, Digitech or Joyo should give them a go may not be right for you but worth a chance. Also I think some Behringer stuff goes alright.
