Having trouble with a new wiring setup

Terrible drawing of what I've tried so far: wiring diagrams.jpg

I'm trying to wire a split coil Bare Knuckle VHII in the bridge with a Seymour Duncan Vintage Hot Stack Strat in the neck. 3-Way blade switch import style, push pull volume pot and 1 tone. I've tried those two setups, hopefully that diagram makes enough sense!

It's getting sound through the bridge pickup and gets a little in the middle position, but nothing comes through in the neck position. Anybody have an idea how to get this straightened out?

I'll be honest I don't have any fundamental understanding of wiring itself/how these layouts actually work, I'm just trying to combine different schematics to see if something works.

I forgot to color code the picture so for the bare knuckle:
Red=North Start
Green=North Finish
White=South Finish
Black=South Start

Seymour duncan: I honestly don't know. I can't find a color code for the vintage hot stack.

If anyone can help with this I will be forever grateful!

Re: Having trouble with a new wiring setup

At a quick glance I would say check the wiring on your 3 way. On these imports, the 2 middle tags are usually the commons. These should connect to the output jack via the vol pot.

A very helpful guide is here

Vitually every switch is explained

It might be helpful if you stated what you are trying to achieve..with one push pull you can cut both pups if yo wished or try something a little different like Artie's coil swap mod.

While that is considered "normal", it can also be done the way he's doing it. Electrons don't care which way they flow through the switch. ;)

I'd check that neck pup wiring. I don't have a Hot Stack, but I'm pretty sure it should be black/hot, red/white together, and green to ground. What is the yellow wire you're showing? Does your Stack actually have a yellow wire?

Re: Having trouble with a new wiring setup

Yea the hot stack wires are confusing. All the diagrams I've found show a green wire, but the hot stack plus only has black/white/red/bare (the yellow wire).

Re: Having trouble with a new wiring setup

I assume those wires are wrapped and/or coated with an outside sheath. I'd look closely at the "end" and see if there's a green wire hidden in there, maybe barely poking out. I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that there is.

Btw, if there is, then your right-side diagram should be correct. You just need to extend the green wire to ground.

Point very much taken. I should have studied schematic a bit closer than I did

Doing it that way is fairly common on Tele's because you can prewire the jumper onto the switch, and then just connect the N/B hot wires to their respective lugs. It's always nice if you can do any prewiring outside of the cavity. (Not a big deal with a Tele, of course.)
