hellatone speakers?

How does the hellatone 60 compare to the vintage 30? On the avatar site it says they take a 60 watt celestion and age it. I assume this 60 watt is the vintage 30.

Re: hellatone speakers?

Same speaker(its a Celestion v30 with a Hellatone label) . Matter of fact I just purchased 2 on Saturday.

cheers Primo

Pretty much the same, just broken in and a little smoother. Not as ice-picky. I've got them both and they sound fantastic.

Re: hellatone speakers?

which would you recomend? Going with my valvetronix which I find lacks some cut with my GT12-75's. Also sounds a bit underwater with some models. I will be using one GT12-75 and one classic 30/ hellatone

Re: hellatone speakers?

the Hellatone 60 is a Vintage 30 that Dave treats to a break in process and relabels
the Hellatone 30 is a G12H30 version

I use an Earcandy 2X12 with the V30/G12H30 mix. For me, that's a GREAT combo. Then again, I've got the 60 watt AD60VTX. I take it your amp is also 60 watts or less? I also changed the tube in mine. Made a nice difference. Put a JJ 12ax7 from Eurotubes in it.

Re: hellatone speakers?

If you're using a 2X12 cab, the cab would only be 60 watts, or 30 per side stereo. At least the Hellatone 30 side would be so you'd fry the speaker if you crank it. A 4X12 should be fine with that mix. SWEET amp by the way. I should have gotten the head.

Re: hellatone speakers?

I was thinking the hellatone 60 or vintage 30, both 60 watts.
My speaker set up is wierd. I have 2 16 ohms speakers in stereo right now. I was just going to replace one of them. I usually run the 30 watt setting with the volumes half way.
I am glad I got the head. I like having speaker options. I was thinking combo until some members on the board said go head. My favorite models are the UK 90's and US 90's, which surprizes me. I also love the AC30 TB
