Hello All..........My New 2012 Gibson Les Paul Supreme modified..........

Re: Hello All..........My New 2012 Gibson Les Paul Supreme modified..........

Any particular reason for a roller bridge with a stop tail??

The Supremes are definitely gorgeous guitars, but I've never been impressed with the tone or playability of any of them that I have played.

I personally like it, especially with the upgrades. I have always liked roller bridges, even more when they are made of brass. I do not really appreciate the cheesy stock zinc alloy/zamak crap pot metal Gibson uses for their bridges and tailpieces. I wasn't too impressed with the tone of the original pickups and the Seymour Duncan 59 and JB models are some of the stash I had in my stock of pickups. This guitar as it is now sounds incredible and she is a keeper.

Great lookin axe, been thinking bout tryin a roller bridge, what's your thoughts on em.
As far as the other forum goes, offer em a nice bottle of chardoney lol
Just curios, did you say something derrogatory about the Annointed one?

A roller bridge does not snag the strings at the bridge eliminating any issues of tuning problems at the bridge. A better string return to zero deviation.

Indeed. Asked if anyone else noticed when the missiles started launching.

Control cavity is through the oversized input cavity and cover. The supreme has a flamed maple back as well as the front of the guitar.

So is it still possible to install push/pull pots and custom wiring jobs or is that just out of the question?

I would tell you that it would take much manipulation to replace the pots and no, it is not impossible.

I was less than satisfied with the original parts, even with the bling, as beautiful as it was. As far as the pickups, they sounded a little less than stellar to my ears. Zamak, zinc alloy, is not an optimum tone or sustain material, in fact it is a cost-saving cheap pot metal so, yeah, I'm not impressed. I replaced the weak-sustain zamak for the high-sustain brass which is more musical. I wanted my guitar to at least sound as great as it looks, now it does. I love Seymour Duncan pickups and Seymour's genius when it comes to tone. Changing the pickups was a no-brainer. The stock pickups did not optimize all the high-end tone woods and excellent workmanship and needed to be changed. Now someday, if I feel so inclined, I may purchase Seymour Duncan pickups with Gold covers to maintain that bling, we'll see.

Congrats on that fine axe, glad you got her put together the way you want.
You would think a company like gibson would spare NO EXPENSE on their guitars in any price range, much less one in the Supreme's range.
Let's hope you'll still have it 4 years from now lol

This guitar is staying with me indefinitely, to hand down to my grand kids. Glad I didn't get the boot here. It really is a shame that the Constitution and the Bill of Rights is not honored in forums. But, what are you going to do?

How much lead is left on the stock pickups? You interested in selling em?

My thoughts exactly.

MLP is MLP. This is Seymour's house so we follow Seymour's rules.

Most of the time. When we don't, buttslaps are delegated down to us in the form of infractions and bannings.
