Re: Hello from Studio jazz rock guitarist Carmine D'Amico

I have a question. After seeing the long list of artists you worked for, particularly in the 70's, I must ask......who in your opinion, had the best parties? Is there any 'standout' artists that had outrageous shindigs?

obviously you keep coming back for more every time you say goodbye and leave so I'll give it to you straight and respectfully. Since you first came here you spammed the hell out of the board with your web sites and guitars you were selling. In addition, you haven't really contributed a thing to this forum yet. You boast your resume as if we are to bow down and kiss the feet of King D'Amico. And that we are to clamor and trip all over ourselves just to speak with you. However, this is not the case. There very well may be others in here that are even more experienced and talented than yourself, but they don't make it readily apparent. So, my friend, go polish your grammys and play your guitar. If you say you're leaving, leave already, we aren't going to stop you. If you're staying, stay and contribute a little without reminding us that you think you are better than we are. You're welcome to. But as of right now you look like someone starving for attention or attempting to feed your ego.

Well he was a nice bloke wasn't he?

His posts... did seem to read like a bad ebay auction or one of those dodgy links to what you think is really a cool site and it turns out to be dodgy porno.

I mean, respect to the guy for his accomplishments, but he just came across as ... blatantly... a ****.

:firedevil:

That did cross my mind at some point, like a prank or something. I didn't want to make assumptions.

+1 LS

Though I do think it's absolutely hilarious that people are defending this guy on the basis of being famous.. :laugh2: :laugh2:

So true.. Just with a different ScreenName and more places for us to visit using someone elses fame. Soon we'll have someone claiming to be Billy Gibbons trying to get us to think he's always been posting under a different name...
GJ, You had us there...

"Famous" in the loosest sense of the word.

Well, that's a few months shy of a year, it just feels like it's been over a year.

The way the Duncan forum has (in my eyes) essentially run a duncan endorsee right off the board makes me ashamed to call myself a member of this forum.

Almost all of us have a website in our signature, thereby automatically referencing it in each post. While Carmine seems to have been a bit "new" to this whole forum thing, IMO there was at no time ion no way grounds for some of the posts made in this thread... At NO time was Carmine attacking or insulting to anybody, but for some reason the Forum Populace felt him as a threat.... Was maybe everyone afraid of soundclips? Or Tone?

IMO as a Duncan ENDORSEE, he has 100x MORE "right" to be here than ANY of us save Evan, Amy Schugar, Mr. Nasty and a few others. And as a HUMAN and more accomplished and respected musician than 99.9% of us losers can ever dream of being, he at least deserves the same respect you give your dog. Remember who pays for our experience, it´s not any of us (at least not directly, I am fully aware that part of the cash raked in by Duncan Sales finances this site)... If someone I don´t know immediately starts acting like I´m some kind of *******, I´ll become one faster than he can open his fly for the nutnoose... My Praise goes to Carmine for taking the high ground and just saying "**** this, I don´t need these kids and this BS" last year already....

While Carmine´s actions may be a bit "unusual", I feel that y bit of slack would have done more than a bit of good... This way it´s only run someone off the forum and seriously damaged my views of some members...

This thread should IMO be locked and either nuked or posted for posterity as a "WTF do some of you think YOU are?" thread ;)

+1 zerb ... you're right to call us (me) out on this ... i suppose we shouldve cut eternal slack to this guy if in fact he is a SD endorsee ... even though he broke many 'norms' of forum decorum, we could have ignored it if we had a problem with it ... i wish i wouldve made better choices ... like maybe PMing him to let him know how he was coming across .. or something else better

i guess i need to learn more restraint at taking the easy shots just to have a little fun

Dude, ...no.

A) nobody did anything but playfully rib him (& bump his post).

B) do a search of his posts. He's done nothing here but advertise. Nothing else. Name another forum member like this???

C) About who has a "right" to be here: I love duncan p-ups, & this board, but don't kid urself. This site is good for duncan too. A live place w/ vocal supporters 24/7.

I like u dood, but ur tryin to take the high road here, when nobody really took the low road. Read between the lines. By playfully messing w/ carmine, we were trying to show him the ropes of the forum, or any forum, for that matter.
