I realise this probably sounds odd, but I'm buying a hardtail squier hello kitty strat (don't worry I'm going to mod and refinish it) I only wanted it because it is cheap and has one pickup. They are now discontinued and I believe they came out in around 2005. I've already put up another thread about bridge replacement which was really helpful as I learnt a lot about it, I'm fairly new to modification. Does anyone have this guitar and do they know what the string spacing on the bridge is? Or do squier all have the same bridge spacing? I'm looking to either get a replacement fender bridge or saddles but I'm not sure which one as i can't really seem to find any and when I do find them I don't know which string spacing I need. If anyone knows the string spacing I am looking for that'd be great, also if you know, please put a link to genuine fender replacements that will fit.Thanks so much, I'm really new to this and looking to learn about it

All the ones I've looked at have been measured in something like 2 1 16ths, does that mean anything?

Also, should I replace the whole bridge or just the saddles? I believe all fender saddles fit all squier bridges?

You have two spacings which applies to both saddles and bridge import/mex and usa spacing. They are not interchangeable unless you plug and drill holes.

You don't have to replace the whole bridge if you don't want to you can just get some import saddles and they will screw right in. An upgrade would be nice you would get a better tremolo block and slightly better baseplate with that gfs. Just look around there is many options for imports spaced bridges.

Ah that helps, I thought there were lots but if there are only two spacing that helps, it is a hardtail bridge so do I need to change the whole bridge or will saddles do the trick? Do saddles need spacing matching to?

Those guitars are overpriced for what they are because of collectability. You would get a better guitar cheaper if you got a regular Standard Line Squier Strat and bought a replacement single-pickup pickguard for it.

If its hardtail i would just get the saddles. It will be a bee's dick of tone difference between the base plates.

I thought people actually paid a premium for these last time I checked; glad you found it cheap though. If you dislike everything about it other than having a one pickup guitar, you might as well sell it and get something you like more (or even two of something you like more.)

As I said in the other thread (the one you started before asking exactly the same question as here) it is foolish in the extreme to be trying to get parts for tonal upgrades before you have even got the guitar.

There are saddles that do not mention spacing, do all saddles fit all bridges? Thanks for all the help

man come on are you just playing silly buggers here? The questions have been answered.

If they don't specifically say import or usa look to the measurements for clues.
