Help! Advice needed on buying

Ok.. Anyone have any serious reservations with buying a factory second?
New Epiphone Elite LP Standards run about $1049. I can get a new one, (ebay, if I win) for $700 and it already has a Duncan Jazz neck and Duncan JB in it. Ive studied info and the Elites are supposed to be real nice axes. And, I also know that seconds are not always poorly made. I just dont like risking that much money.

Please share your thoughts. I have about 10 hours.. Thanks!!!

Update. Per the seller, (he is a vendor) he said that he thinks its a second due to a fault with the pickups. He says the guitar was most likely returned, they slapped cheap all parts pups in it to unload as a second. He got it, put some quality pups in it and is selling.
Anyone? please?? my 9 lb 1.5 oz baby girl is counting on you...

as far as i know seconds are just guitars with finish flaws that can be the smallest things or a large blems. usually they play just fine it may just have some paint bleed over the binding or an offset inlay..stuff like that is what i have seen on guitars marked as seconds. do you have good pics of the guitar you can post? anyone else have any input?

no, I dont. I dont like the color tho. Its like a brown burst. Tobacco burst maybe.. But I want it to play. The pics look good. he has given alot of close ups. Nothing to hide. there are some dings at the top of the headstock. He said it looks like they did it stamping it as a 2nd. Thanks for replying! Time is running out.

I did some guitar work on a Epi SG 2nd for Klown. It was a pretty alright guitar, especially for for the 100 bucks he paid. HOWEVER it had an incredibly thick finish, I found out that it was because it had previously been red then refinished black, both from the factory. The fretwork was par with any other epi, my guess is that the reason that it was a 2nd was B/C of the refin.
