help choosing pickups

I have a dean cadilac x it has a basswood body bolt on maple neck with rosewood fretboard. I play everything from metal like pantera and black label society to the allman brothers and classic rock. my amp is a jcm 800. I want a bridge pickup that will handle all that gain and sound good clean. I only use my neck pickup for clean most of the time but every once in awhile i use it dirty too. the only duncans i have used before was a duncan distortion in the bridge and a alnico II pro in the bridge as far as neck pickups i have only used the pearly gates. but with the money i have and the place i am getting them from i cant get another one of those. so far my choices are.
bridge
1. jb
2. distortion
3. custom

neck
1. seth lover
2 alnico II pro
3. jazz
if anyone has any combo suggestions or imput it would help me out alot

Re: help choosing pickups

I think to cover all the bases you should go JB in the bridge, and a Jazz in the neck. That seems to be a winner all round for lots of different situations.

for those styles you named i vote for the custom in the bridge( i prefer the DD for zakk, pantera, but you mentioned the allmans, and classic rock as well)
and the seth or a alnico II pro in the neck.

Re: help choosing pickups

You can't go wrong with a JB in the bridge, tho I personally prefer the Demon. On the clean stuff, you will have a more 'airy' tone, not as midrangey and wooly as a JB ...

Re: help choosing pickups

usully the basswood body are full of mids and if your guitar is bright as well a winner could be the C5 ( its EQ is complementary ) ; if you put a p-u with lots of mids like the JB or DD you won't have any definition , it's gonna be just cream .
