HELP !EMG S,SA,SAV Neck. what are the differences?

I´m studying the possibility of getting a emg 60 neck and a 81 combo for my ibanez, and a 81 bridge, and one of those single coils listed on the thread topic.
but, i don´t have a clue on how´s they differ from each other
i want a Balanced Sound.. not scooped bass, middles or treble...
Moderate/high output .
and a Not BASSY pickup, but not a thin too
i´ll use it in my charvel, in the neck position
can you help me with some info on those EMG single coils IN the neck position? for Metal, Hard rock aplications? if you have any soundclips, i would like to hear them

Also, if you have any info regarding the difference between the emg 60 and the emg 60A.. i´ll be very happy!

The difference between the 60 and the 60A is that the 60 is ceramic and the 60A is alnico. Kind of like a Custom and a C5.

As far as the single coils, The S is a ceramic pickup. It's tight, bright, and works great clean.

The SA is alnico. It has rounder highs than the S with more mids and a bit more bass. This pickup really sings when soloing.

The SAV is the closest to a standard strat single. It has exposed poles and alnico mags. If you want the strattiest sound, get this one.

All are pretty high output.

Personally, I like the SA's in my Dave Gilmour set. They work for anything from country to metal with the right amp.

BTW, if you can, get the SPC control with your EMG's. It gives you a lot more punch to cut through when you solo.

i just still have a doubt about the emgs. i already knew about the magnet stuff, i would like to know about the tonal differences.. the 60A is harder to find here.
Humm i guess i´ll go with the Sa, based on your description of the 3.

you can get an adaptor, from the tiny plug that enter in the mic output behind your ocmputer, to fit the guitar cable
and then, record it in the windows sound recorder

I'll try to get it done in the next couple of days. Mine is in a MIJ 62 RI strat (basswood body, rosewood fret board).

I'll be going through a Boss GT-8

some leads.. sweeps(if possible) and 2 hands/tapping(if possible too).
thats enough.
i just want the neck sa tone.
Ah with enough distortion asn sustain
one with distortion only, and other you can add delay and/or reverb to the distortion
