Help finding the proper guitar between $500 - $1000

Re: Help finding the proper guitar between $500 - $1000

Buying a nice guitar on eBay is great, if it works out for you. Personally, I won't buy a guitar that I haven't played, and I don't trust other people on eBay as far as I could throw the entire Internet.

It's worked out for me over 30 times.

That's the great thing about being the buyer on ebay. You don't have to trust anyone. Ebay's policies favor the buyer so heavily that you can basically return any purchase to any seller for any reason for a full refund. There is practically zero risk.

Kinda sucks for sellers, but hey, it's a buyer's market.

I will say I've both bought and sold guitars on eBay, and although I've never had a single problem on either side of the transaction, I will confirm that eBay HEAVILY favors the buyer in large money transactions - I made a sale for $750 once and it took almost a month to get the proceeds to me, despite my confirmed shipping of the product less than an hour after selling and said product arriving in two days. eBay holds on to your money on large auctions very carefully before releasing funds.

Talk is cheap! :D

Agreed.

Even after paying Transatlantic shipping charges and import taxes, my Warmoth Cabronita project Tele is going to come in at under $650. With an unpainted body, it would have cost less again.

What was it? A Hellraiser? Look, if you have $1,000, try to buy an SG standard. amazing guitar. (not my favourite flavor tea, but it is a good one).
Then add the cost of new set of pickups and locking tuners :D
