Help! Floyd jumped off it's posts

Stupid me tried to remove the pickups without remembering to block the Floyd on my Wolfgang...sure enough, it jumped right off the posts. Can anyone help me get this back on? What do I do first, tighten the strings, install the bridge height screws, or install the springs? In all the years I've had my guitar, I've never had this happen to me, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Help! Floyd jumped off it's posts

The trems on my guitars are reccessed, so this may not work for you but you might want to give it a try. Remove the trem cover and witha pair of needle nose pliers just remove all the trem springs. Put the trem back on, turn it over (sitting on your lap) and put the trem springs back on.
It works on my guitars, hopefully it will work on yours.

What El Whoppo said.

I used that method when experimenting with pickups. Pop off the springs, yank out floyd, switch pickguards, put floyd back on posts, and replace springs. The guitar is in tune and already to go with a new pickguard.

Defintely don't mess with the posts or the spring claw if you don't have to.
