HELP!! G Major bairly getting signal

I just got my G major last night and I can't get hardly any input signal. It says you are suppose to adjust your input gain knob until you get up to -3db, but when I max everything it only gets up to -24db. If I took this out of my FX loop this would be loud enough to get the cops at my front door in 4 minutes!! THe manual says to put all your global gains at -6db so that you have some head room. Even the factory presets are way to quiet. My FX loop is on and the pad button is off. WHY ISN"T THIS THING SCREAMING LOUD????

Thanks, a friend of mine has one of these and he showed me that option. Sure enough that drops it about 20db or so... THANKS ANYWAYS GUYS!!
