Help identify this BC Rich (USA?) Assassin

Hi!

I can buy this from a trusted source at a 'good' price, but I have little information. All I know is what the retailer posts about this axe:

- BC Rich (Assassin)
- USA
- Hot Rails pick ups
- Floyd Rose
- Retail price ~ USD 2000

And this picture which shows quite an 'a-typical' BC Rich without fret markers.

Who thinks he/she knows more about the possible origin of this guitar?

Thanks!

Why bother? Doesnt seem like itd be worth that much even if 100% genuine and utterly perfect.

(ymmv)

...or, wait, is your price several times lower than the stated $2k? You pretty much gotta give us a number here, since price makes or breaks anythung. Well, unless you consider it the best possible axe in existence, of course!

Thanks, but I can get it for ~ euro 500 :) So, if it is an original (custom?) USA-made, maybe it's a good deal

Re: Help identify this BC Rich (USA?) Assassin

PS btw, I'd doubt any ad for anything where you cannot properly see the headstock... Examine in person or demand bigger better and more pics.

Re: Help identify this BC Rich (USA?) Assassin

On closer examination (zoomed in): you likely won't get them pics...because it's either a very bad fake or horrobly broken. Cuz NOBODY takes off a floyded boltons neck like that (unless its been in the hands of idiots, in which case - steer clear too!)

Look: neck is BADLY off centre, 6th string is over 4th polepiece of the last pickup

Re: Help identify this BC Rich (USA?) Assassin

Thanks for the replies so far. Here's a better picture. It's an auction of a trustworthy dealer that went bankrupt. They've been a BC Rich dealer for decades. I can buy this for ~ 500 euros where the stated retail price is ~ 1900 euros. Problem is that I cannot view the guitar and there is no support staff anymore to answer questions. Just buy and collect...

The 2 weirdest features of this one to me are: 1) no fret markers; 2) 3 single PUPs where BC rich usually has at least 1 hum bucker... So I wonder if this is a custom made guitar? If that's the case, it may be worth investing the euro 500...

Neck rly is horribly off centre... The "6th string over 4th polepiece position" comment holds up, despite lack of polepieces per se

We have here, at best, a "project guitar". Offer $200 if its real USA BC Rich, $60 if in doubt, buying as scrap for pickups/hardware

Re: Help identify this BC Rich (USA?) Assassin

Also, see that black wide edge of a light burst? 10:1 says that's a laminate veneer or foto top, not the real wood under the burst. Old Fender technology for hiding glued on "tops" edges, so they cant be seen from the side.

NOT a sign of a $2k guitar at all, more in line with midrange guitars (mexifenders, koreans, etc)

Re: Help identify this BC Rich (USA?) Assassin

Thanks Adieu, really appreciate your reading on this. Guess I'll stay clear from this one... too many question marks here...
