help identify this Ibanez

Not sure why I care, as this guitar isn't really my style. Still, if it is a good deal...

Would like to know if there are ways to tell if this really is a "higher quality" Ibanez.

Looks like a bad refin of an early RG to me. Which are good, way better than asking price here.

I would ask him whether it has any markers identifying country of origin.

Good idea. Did they do a neck stamp or anything? What about the trem...is that any kind of indicator?

I also doubt those are stock pickups... I'm not an expert on Ibanez, but the only axes I've seen stock with chrome covers on the pups is the jazzier semi/hollows and the old Roadstar signatures (like the Lukather in the Ultimate Asian thread).

This is not necessarily a bad thing...

It's an AANJ, so that at the very least it's mid 90s, though.

The manufacturing info would be on the back of the headstock...
