Help identifying a pickup

Hello all,

I'm wondering what this pup is. The only clues I have is that it has a sticker on the bottom that reads "AH1BK" (If I remember correctly - the pup is not with me at the moment) it's white and it came out of an early 90's Custom Shop Set Neck Strat. I'll have to double check but I'm fairly sure it does not have the 12 adjustable poles. If I remember correctly, it's the standard six adjustables.

I of course Google'd and searched this site. Everything points back to the AH1 12 pole piece pup.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

welcome to the forum!!

do you have a multimeter to check the dc resistance? any chance you could take a pic and post it? does it have a duncan base plate?
i realize that you cant answer these questions till its in your hands, but that info should help us narrow it down

Alan Holdsworth Model AH-1B (now only Custom Shop): 16.3k (like a JB), 12 fillister screws, A2

Jeremy, you should remember! You had one in your Hamer!!

Re: Help identifying a pickup

Yeah but he says it's only got 6 screws, not 12.

It could be APH1 or whatever the marking is for the Alnico Pro.

Re: Help identifying a pickup

It's a good thing that I don't have to rely on my photographic memory. It indeed does have the 6 adjustable screws. Why I thought it didn't is beyond me. It's white and according to the specs on the custom shop page, it's the humbucker and not the trembucker (probably didn't offer the trem spacing back then).

The sticker reads AH1BL not AH1BK as I originally thought. DC resistance is 16.3k. Jeremy would'a been on it if I had given the right info to start with. For that matter, I wouldn't have made the post if I remembered the details. I could have found it on my own. :)

So I assume the "B" stands for bridge. What does the "L" stand for?

That would also (presumably) be the same person who wound those fabulous "DDL" marked Distortions (which are as good as the DDJs IMO)
