Purchased an RG550 from 87 and this is the pickup in the bridge position. Can anyone identify it?

Re: Help Identifying Pickup

Full Shred bridge

Should have two rows of hex heads.

Don't lose the sticker

That’s right! Is this pickup good? I need to research it.

Re: Help Identifying Pickup

That particular vintage is rather desirable, but good is a matter of opinion. Do you like the way it sounds in that guitar?

Unfortunately something is wrong with the wiring. I dropped it off at a local luthiers house today bc I don’t have any of my tools and couldn’t identify the issue. I suspect it’s an upgrade from the stock v8 pickup - but that being said I typically like to keep these “collector” guitars with their stock pups. This is a super clean 87’ DY. Can’t wait to hear it in all its glory, it sounded like **** today!

Re: Help Identifying Pickup

A glean '87 will be desirable no matter what pickups are in it. The Full Shred is great, but if it is great to you depends.
