Help? Installing Alnico II Pro's on a 2008 Gibson Les Paul Standard

This is my first experiment in installing pickups. I'm trying to install the Seymour Duncan Slash pickups that have just a single braided cable similar to the Burstbucker Pro.

I have removed the little PCB clip and trimmed back some of the black wire. I have soldered the black wire to the black wire coming from the pickup and the green wire from the clip to the metal braided section from the pickup. However, I am getting no sound when I plug it back into the PCB.

This seems so simple. Am I not doing something correctly? I've made sure the connections are solid and the solder is holding the wires in place solidly as well.

Post a picture, thats a better aid for help. Why dont you just solder it directly to the pot?

Yeah, forget about those silly connection boards and take the pup wires directly to the pot.
