The way you say "buzz buzz buzz" it could be that the circuit is oscillating - what's called motorboating.
First check the value of your resistors, then check to make sure you have the polarized caps wired in the correct way.
If there is no problem there, it is most likely the way the circuit is layed out. All high gain circuits can oscillate.
One thing that will stop it is to bridge across the battery supply with an electrolytic cap. I'd start with a 47mfd and go higher if required.
If you are still using that layout diagram you previously posted, connect the cap at the junction of the 33K and 470 ohm resistor (negative side) and the positive side to a ground - like something connected to lug 1 of the FUZZ pot.
