G&L Tribute Legacy. Get one of the ones from a few years ago. They were made a bit better, and included a nice gig bag. You should be able to find one for well under your budget - perhaps even half of it if you really shop around. Hands down best stock "Strat" you can get for the money, and the vibrato stays in tune better than anything Fender puts on a Strat (short of a Floyd). If you want a beefier sound, get the S500 instead. If you want hum cancelling, go for the Comanche (more expensive, but still probably under your budget on the used market). They're all the same basic guitar; just the pickups are different, really.
