The depth of the humbucker routes are pretty deep. Would be difficult to direct mount :/

You have answered your own question. Look at how beautifully the bridge contrasts with the wood.

I have black trim rings and black knobs on my 60s tribute.
I wasn't sure with the zebra pickups at first but it grew on me.

I actually think the black rings, knobs, poker chip would look better on the white one and the creme rings/chip, and gold knobs on the burst

Would that effect the pickups if they are unpotted?

I think I've decided upon black. I took the cream covers off another guitar of mine just to see how they would look and I didn't dig it much .

I actually ended up going with these maple burl wooden rings that have been dyed blue. Could be a disaster .. Could look awesome. I'll post more pics when they arrive
