Hey guys,
I've tried a '78 in my Lester and men... it's friggin' awesome!
It sound just perfect!

Now it's time to find a good companion for it for the neck spot....
I'm about searchin' a good ol' PGn... what do you think?

Cheers,
Flavio

I use an Antiquity which fits very well.

I will probably end up ordering a '78 neck from the custom shop. I normally prefer buying used but the '78 looks like worth the risk.

Cheers uOpt!

How do you think the Antiquity Neck will react with my gear (ENGL head with quite a bit crunchy sounds)? Do the non-potted thing will become a problem with hi volume / gain?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Re: Help me find a good pair ('78 content)

I haven't taken it to a loud environment yet, can't really comment.

I can tell you the wind on the SD CS pickups is very tight and they will cause less feedback than cheap pickups that are potted.

But you know the saying: there's always somebody playing with higher gain than you imagine anyone does :). You also dropped the ENGL keyword.

Hihi! You're right man! You can find a bilion metal player out there!

BTW I tend to play with less gain possible and my ENGL delivers it in spades! :naughty:

For what I'm looking for, you can take as reference some hard rock gain... I think that the most gainy sound that I use is some kind of Aldrich but more grainy (for lack of better terms! ;))

You know, when you turn your tone down and the Lester sings... aaaahh, what a feeling! :14:

Sounds like what I like, I'm sure you'll dig the Ant.

Now that we talk about it, I think my '78 is unpotted, too. Gotta check.

Re: Help me find a good pair ('78 content)

Mmmh.. good point...
This evening, as soon as I go home, I'll check it too... maybe on the pickup box there's some info...

I think that I'll try an Ant Neck... My friend (which built my last guitar) hase one in a telly neck spot...

Thanks man!
Cheers,
Flavio
