help me find pickups for my new Chapman ML2

so guys, I've been posting also on the Chapman forum, so here's the deal

after checking the entire Chapman range, I decided I want the ML-2 Black cherry and bought it today after a close fight with the ML-1 PRO. (WOOHOO :cool2: )

it's super fun to play, but I want to upgrade the pickups (and I'm a Seymour Duncan fan).

I usually play Blues on the neck pickup, so I want the Pearley Gates for the neck

but I can't decide which bridge pickup to get since I'm a metal player, but more in the hard-rock vibe (this is my band, for musical style reference)

I can't decide between the Pegasus / Custom 5 / Custom Custom , and now someone suggested the 59/Custom Hybrid

Guitar specs:

Solid Mahogany Body
25" Scale Length
Maple Neck
Ebony Fingerboard
Thin C Neck Contour
Glue-in Neck Construction
13.8" Fretboard Radius
24 Extra Jumbo Frets
Grover Machine Heads
43mm TUSQ Nut
TonePros Bridge
2 × Chapman Guitars Guitarnivore Humbuckers (Alnico Passive, High Output)

it has trembucker spacing on the bridge pup, and I play it through a Jet City 50H

help someone? :15:

I think the Hybrid would blend better with the PGn...

Just a thought for Blues, maybe a Phat Cat in the neck? I have a Mahogany Strat with Ebony fretboard (Mahogany neck as well) and the Phat Cat in the neck gets some great Blues tones.

Alt8 bridge is great for various kind of rock to metal.

I'll second the Custom suggestion. It'll blend decently with the PGn from my experience and it'll get you all the hard tones you could want. Personally, I've never liked the Alt 8. It has a weird midrange that bugs me.

Re: help me find pickups for my new Chapman ML2

I would say Duncan Custom too. The CustomCustom works with the Pearly neck, but isn't the tone you posted in your video at all. The Hybrid might work, but I didn't like it. The Custom 5 with an unoriented A5 magnet in it would work well too. Other possibilities include the Dimarzio Air Zone or Super Distortion.

Wow, cool video! I dig the Pegasus for that. It is modern, tight, and still versatile. I think you will get exactly what you want.
