Help Me in pickup quest!

Re: Help Me in pickup quest!

They look like asian p'ups. They've been tampered with, too. The baseplate's legs have been cut to fit a triangular-shaped cavity, I assume.

The holes for the height-adjusting screws look like they've been augmented, most probably they were screwed direct-to-body, not on a p'up ring.

What are the polepiece spreads? If they're 50mm/52mm, metric, they most probably are asian.

That site wants me to download a file to view the pics...I'm not doing that

Why don't you attach some pics to your post instead or host them on imgur.com so we can all see them?

Re: Help Me in pickup quest!

thnak you for your reply peter! they sound very nice actually and the manifacture ( dont kill me for this) looks colsely on par with american manifactured things. I mean they dont have that chep feel i wuld expect from those oversea things. They are regular spacing and yes they are mounte ddirect to body! actually into a little metal insert into the wood.

Couldnt FIND any info on the internet.

The bobbins and the baseplates look like the ones on sale on mojotone. The cloth tape looks like the one on sale on StewMac. The filisters and slugs look like the ones on sale on addiction-fx. All of these parts are of asian origin. Maybe a home-brewed set?

BTW, the last generation of sub-40 bucks hbs on sale on aliexpress look and feel nowhere near "cheap". And a couple of those that I've personally tried even sounded pretty good, and I don't even mean considering the price.

I'm curious, what are the DC readings on those?
