Help Me Pick A Color - PRS CONTENT!

Hey Everyone!

So the lady of the house and I will be starting a family in the next couple years. So, this year she and I are crossing things off the crib list. And, much to me delight, she has allowed me to grab a few guitars that have haunted me dreams for years. Hence the 2013 Gibson Les Paul Traditional in January in Chicago Blue. :banana:

So this weekend, I discussed with her about possibly ordering a PRS Custom 22 as I've always wanted one. I thought she was going to hurt me in a most horrible way, but to my pleasant surprise, she gave me one of these --> :bigthumb: I am a lucky man, gents. I started checking out colors and wanted to get some input. I dig the following 9, particularly the Jade! The violet was suprisingly pretty as well. But what do you guys think? I am going flame-top if that helps. The Colors are listed in the order they appear. If your choice is "other" please choose from the colors offered here. See the options below:

The finish for which I would like to vote - Tiger Eye - no longer appears to be offered. Hence, Jade (ideally, with gold hardware).

The violet one calls my name but you'd BETTER NOT go with whatever the forum goes with.
Think on it, sleep on it, think on it some more, and get the one that calls your name. You don't want to fall out of love with it anytime soon, it had better be the one you like most.

Personally, I like the Tiger Eye (Black Gold) and the Sapphire (Aquableux) ones the best. But I'm not sure why my opinion matters, you're the one who's going to be seen with it, and be looking at it every day.

Oh yeah, does your angel of a wife have a sister by any chance?

I voted Aquableux cause I like how it contrasts with the mahogany back. And if you get a darker fretboard it looks good next it too.

If they still offered the Natural color as a standard option I would have voted that cause I've always liked the "no color" option. It's sort of what destiny or nature makes it look.

However...

If I were in your position I do go with the artist package route and get Natural color, either maple neck and fretboard or rosewood neck and fretboard. Maybe gold hardware. These are just what I'd get but thought I'd share it if you might inspiration from it.

The blue does look very delicious and even I would be very happy with it. The purple does look good as well like you said.

The only two that aren't flat-out hideous are the black goldburst and the tobacco sunburst. I voted for the tobacco sunburst. A lot of those colors would be cool on other types of guitars. But the PRS guitars are gaudy enough as it is; they need to be toned down with a simple, classic finish to be anywhere near stomachable.

That fire red burst is sweet. Red is my favorite color so there's a slight bias there. :bigthumb:

I like the Fire Red a ton. I have a Black Gold burst and can say from experience that it looks great.

Of the ones I've seen in person, the Charcoal and Faded Whale blue are absolutely beautiful. I'd go with the latter as it seems a bit rarer.

I'd go either Jade or Black Gold burst. But Jade is my personal fav color on any PRS with a highly figured Flame top.

My wife has no sisters, sorry. She got something out of this too. She really wants a couple's trip to Hawaii. So next year we're gonna go!

As far as your opinion mattering... Hearing other opinions helps me focus on what I like or do not like about certain colors. I'm starting to lean towards the Jade, STRONGLY. But the Violet is my next choice.

I hear ya though, I value outside opinions on most things. But if you like the Jade, go with the Jade. It'll do you good.

Personally, I love the Eriza Verde (greenburst) or Vintage Natural (light teaburst).
