Help me pick a new amp!

I play prog metal, think Periphery but not so much djent. I want something tighter and clearer than my 6505+ 112, which I'll be trading. And it'll need to stay together with 7 strings. My budget is roughly $550 (I need enough for a cab and head, im thinking like $300-350 on an amp and about $200 on a cab) and i want to go used. 30-120 watts tube, 80-150 solid state. I would prefer to have a separate cab and head but I'll do a combo if need be. Ive seen a few amps that have caught my attention:
1.) A Peavey XXL 100w for $250-300, don't mind going solid state
2.) Peavey Triple XXX 120w for $350
3.) Randall RG1503H 150w for $230
Combos im considering:
1.) Blackstar HT Club 40 40w for about $400
2.) Marshall JCM2000 DSL401 40w for $430
3.) Peavey Ultra 212 for $350
Im not currently gigging but i think it'd be best to be prepared given i have the money now. These are all used and not in my area so i can't try them out, sadly. Well, any input would be awesome!

imo stay with the 6505+ combo, pick up an overdrive (the Airis Savage Drive really tightens metal amps up) and a noise gate, and pick up a solid cab to use instead of the speaker in the combo.

Its not a matter of trying to get things to make me like an amp i feel i outgrew, i want something new, y'know? I have a noise gate and a boss SD-1 which helped but not as much as i wanted.

Re: Help me pick a new amp!

Lemme ask you this:

Did you ever think of having your 6505+ turned into a head and just using a bigger cab?

Try running the amp you have now through a bigger cab and then think about the mod later.

I'm just saying...for everything you mentioned you wanna play...it sounds like you are set already.

I have considered that, quite a bit actually, i honestly really just am not liking this amp anymore and i wanna give something else a try.

Re: Help me pick a new amp!

But maybe i should consider something a bit lower wattage cause chances are nowadays if i play a gig, ill be mic'd. But to settle something: about the 6505, you know how you guys want 'that tone', like your dream tone? Yeah, well the 6505 just isn't that for me.

Re: Help me pick a new amp!

but like, what you are describing is pretty much a 6505+ lol it just doesn't make much sense and yeah a larger cab could help a lot cause the stock speakers in those are terrible

The cleans are my biggest issue, ive been getting into playing more and more cleans lately and the 6505 isnt cutting it at all
