Scott would plug his own company's amp but I will having played two different models.

He make a point-to-point JTM45 that sounds better than the RI-JTM45, I should know since I own amp serial number 007.

This amp is a great amp for playing the type of music that you have listed.

For a small club gig look for a Marshall DSL401. All the heroes you mentioned played Marshalls...why not you?

Otherwise, I have a Mesa DC-3 112 combo. It's similar in size and power to the DSL401, but with a lot more tonal flexibility. Find a used one, they are worth the money. I also have a Mesa Maverick 212 that I sometimes use with a 212 Recto cab--awesome rig for blues and classic rock!

For a little more headroom, move to a 2 x 6L6 amp, like a Mesa DC-5, or F-50 or Nomad 55. Hey, why not search out a fully loaded Mesa Mark III combo? It's one of the most versatile amps ever made; and while they are expensive, they will keep growing in value--they are an investment.

Marshall has similar power offerings in the TSL601 and TSL602.

The Fender and Peavey amps mentioned would not be high on the amps I would recommend for you, based on your initial post. But if you have a ton of dough, and want a great high-headroom amp, try a Fender Vibro-King.

after playing through some v series amps I think i'm going to get the 16 watt crate palomino. Although the DSL401 was very nice
