Hey guys, I am going to swap my stock pups coz it sounds not hot enough, and the clean sounds kinda thin, not warm enough. My guitar has a maple neck bolts on a alder body. Its fingerboard is rosewood. It's a EBMM Silhouette(HSH).
I always play 80's and 90's metal like Megadeth, Metallica, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Dream Theater. Come on guys, I need your suggestions about the bridge position. I need a hot DiMarzio pup, but I can not decide which pup is cool. ToneZone, Super D, Super 3. I am looking for a hot, tight distortion and nice clean tone, clarity low notes at the same time.
I would go for a Air Norton for the neck position. Thanks!!

Cheers!

Re: help me please!

If you want a nice clean tone as WELL as a great distorted tone try the Air Zone or Breed in the bridge. They will clean up better than the TZ, SD or S3.

And they both sound GREAT distorted. :D

Re: help me please!

yes, I agree with that. But you know right now the stock pup in the bridge position is a PAF Pro, its clean do sounds cool, and has a nice hot distortion but not hot enough for me. :)

Re: help me please!

IMO, the Air Zone kills the PAF Pro, which is very one dimensional and thin in the bridge.

Re: help me please!

I've got the air zone in the bridge as well of my SZ and its extremely tight and articulate...great for distortion. I'm using a virtual PAF in the neck and that thing is really warm and glossy...excellent lespaul tone which might not be what your looking for...an air norton in the neck might though...

Re: help me please!

I love the super distortion for 80s metal.
