ok, i was messing with my blue voodoo and my digitech gen1 processor today, i;m almost happy with my tone......somthing is missing though??? i dont know what i should do to make my tone better??? here is a clip of me ****in around with my tone.
my playing blows but tell me what you think of my tone?

nothing wrong with you're playing....

so what don't you like?

I'm thinking a little more bottom end thickness... but really it doesn't sound that bad, and being you're playing darker music it seems quite fine... Invader maybe???

I'd like to hear it at a higher bit rate... the bass end is a bit boomy, there are times where you can hear the strumming of the strings as in you playing the guitar is being picked up in addition to the amp.

there's nothing wrong with the sound if you ask me.. you changed the pups on your RR1? the JB's got enough bottom end for my liking, but the sound is not as thick as the custom.. i like this clip man =)
the sound is a bit boomy overall, but thats the halfstack -> computer thing for ya...


damnit i need a new guitar.

i really like this clip, man, you got the chops for a fookin great metal band.. it's sounds very classical .. i hear a bit of bach.. nice! it would be cool, if the clip wasnt chopped.. or is that cos of the stream.. i'll download it

hey guys, i dont realy know what i want to change on my guitar tone.to me it sounds good but like somthing is missing??? I did change the pickups on my rr1, i put kent armstrong distortion pickups in it, the ones with the black covers on them. they were cheap on ebay. i took out the duncans cause i wanted the look of emg's but i already have a jackson active mid boost in this guitar and don't know if i'd be able to use the emg's with this mid boost also??? i don't know if i'd have enough room for another 9volt in there? i may just switch back to the duncans not sure yet though??? i can't make the clip any higher bit rate on acid planet for some reason it sounds realy messed up on the if you go any higher than 48kbps for some dumb reason??? lol, you can here me pickin the strings cause i sat right in front of my amp with the mic right there in my face while i was playing cause i was messin with the knobs n stuff. i'm thinking of adding a bbe sonic maximizer, hope that helps me get the tone i want. *can't explain tone in head,crazy,crazy,crazy* lol thanx guys

dude, can you send me the clip? the email is in my profile.

try putting the duncans back and see how they fare with the mid boost. did you replace em imediately after you got the guitar? if so, that is a mistake, sorry to say that, but you should at least checked em how they sound, especially if they're real duncans, not designed ones.

I see no flaw in your sound. if you want it diferent, you gotta explain it better (btw, how are the jackson covers? i mean the ones on their CVR2's or whatever the model names are.. can they be taken off? if so, you could rub the jackson logo off and put the duncans underneath, EMG look, but duncan sound .. i dont know how this would work together though)

your clean chorused tone is a little undefined, i'd probably brighten it up a tiny bit.

i thought your rhythm tone was pretty cool, try and make it sound more in your face for metal though

What models of Duncan's do you have that your thinkin about installing in your guitar again?

sorry dude cant send ya the clip cause my comp was low on memory and i had to delete a whole mess load of stuff and that was one a deleted.

the duncans i have laying around are, JB,59,distortion,i also have a duncan custom in my rr copy that i could take out if i wanted.

I think it sounds pretty good. the upper register is pretty clear, but when the run starts to descend into the lower register is seems to get a bit "BOOMY" i imagine that that is related to the recording technique. How does it sound to you, when you stand away from the amp? i might add a little mid, and cut the bass a little. that is solely from what i am hearing on the recording.
