I had a similar issue with sg classic after I traded for it. I tossed the gig bag and cleaned it with formsbys buildup remover to take whatever wax had been used and let it sit for a day on a cotton covered stand.
Next I used gerlitz blue bottle cleaner on the entire guitar minus the fretboard. Then I did 3 coats of the carnuba gerlitz in the nitro and let done gerlitz guitar honey hydrate the dry board.
Now minus some buffing and lite setup tweaks when changing strings the guitar gas not done that messy purge. The neck now seems not sticky and I see no reactions in the nitro.
I thought it was due to my cousins body chemistry or used if furniture wax by the original owner. But it came out a-ok with proper care.
