Help! Neck Trouble?

Hi,
I need help. I have an Epiphone explorer and I can't get the action set to stop causing fret buzz. No matter how high I adjust the saddle I keep getting fret buzz in the middle of my guitar, starting around the 8th to 9th fret on up (there is no fret buzz from the 1st to 6th frets). Now, much of this buzz occurs when I try to play a chord anywhere from the 8th fret on up, and, the treble strings buzz when I play individual notes from the 8th position on up. I have adjusted the truss rod but if I tighten it to a point where it is firmly set then all the strings buzz everywhere on the neck, so I loosened it 2 or 3 turns counter-clockwise and that's the best I've been able to get it without loosening the truss rod completely. Raising the saddle changed nothing-period. So, what could be the problem here?
Suffice to say, I was going to have the guitar repaired anyway as the pick-up selector or something related needs to be fixed (sometimes the pick-up switch fails to select from the rhythm to the treble positions). I'm just curious to know what issues I might be encountering in terms of what's going on with my action-neck-trussrod? Any help would be appreciated.

Yup take that guitar to the shop.... Sounds like the neck may of moved a little.... May need a fret dress to correct it... Wood likes to move when you don't want it to sometimes.

As far as the Electronics in your Epiphone i would put in better pots and switches oneday.... I have an Epi LP and an Epl Exployer and the pots and switches such.. I put real Gibson pots in my EX as that was all the 500k pots the store had and they made a huge difference... The guitar had some funny shorts and cr*p.... all was solved by changing the pots and using better hook up wires... Also Explioyers have such a tight electronic rout that the pots can sometimes twist over and a solder lug can tough the side of the sheilded cavity and short out.... That can be a pain.
