Hello all,

I was at the local Sam Ash and they had literally just gotten in a load of Jay Turser guitars, I had heard of these but never played one.

This is a model something 50, it has a set neck and chrome pickups. It was $229 but I know a few guys there and can prob get a discount on it.

JT-50
Double cutaway
Solid body
Maple set neck
Rosewood fingerboard
2 humbucking pick-ups
2 volume controls, 2 tone controls
Die-cast machines
Colors: TR, BK, WA
MSRP: $339.95

Just seeing if anyone else knows about these.

THANKS! :smoker:

Re: Help Please, Jay Turser SG

I used to have a Jay Turser LP copy. I actually liked it a lot, but it didn't stay in tune, and the pickups fed back at high volumes. Having said that, I always picked it up to make up riffs on cause it had some mojo, believe it or not. It looked more expensive than it was. I eventually sold it.

Yeah man it was a darn nice guitar.
The neck seemed a little smallish but nothing crazy.
The body looked to be a good solid one, no real seem lines anywhere.
My friend has a real sg standard, and he played it to and said he really liked it.
Anyway I may pick one up.

Re: Help Please, Jay Turser SG

Those Tursers are a hell of a bargain. They're not a perfect substitute for the real thing, but they are the best guitar for the money on the market right now IMO. I have tried a few of the Fender copies, and the quality is almost hard to believe. I would replace the pickups right away, and some better tuners may be in order, but other than that they are very good guitars.
