Hey guys,

My friend has an Ibanez RG320fm with these specs:

• Wizard II neck
  
• Maple Neck Material
  
• Basswood/ Flamed Maple top Body
  
• 24/Jumbo frets
  
• Rosewood Finger Board
  
• Edge Pro II bridge
  
• PSND1 (H) Neck PU
• 
  PSND2 (H) Bridge PU

Based upon these specs, what would be the ideal pickup combo (HH) for him? Either SD or DIM...

He's a big fan of Steve Vai but I think EVO's with the Double locking trem would be quite thin.

Your opinions please.

cc bridge, aph neck for fuller tone. but they won't do vai very well. for vai, methinks the full shred set.

Vai uses Evolutions, I think you should stick with them.

Evolution set. Vai uses them in his basswood Ibanez's with double locking trem, so why mess with a good thing?

vais jems are alder not basswood. his signature line is basswood. evo, flo and his 3 neck are alder
