Help soldering 3 way selector

I'm replacing the 3 way selector in my old Schecter, uses a old style SG switch. So I got the old switch out, and am trying to solder the black (ground) to the chassis and I can't get the solder to stick to the switch. I think the chassis of the switch is aluminum, light gray color, sure looks like aluminum. Anyone got any tips?

Re: Help soldering 3 way selector

when you solder, are you heating the switch chassis or the solder? if you're heating up the chassis(you should be), have you tried sanding/roughing it up? what kind of iron/solder are you using?

Got it, thanks guys, little jewelers file took care of it, and leaving the iron on the solder long enough for it to flow.

Now, I got that done, plugged the guitar in and it's buzzing until I lay a hand on the strings WTF! This guitar has never buzzed, ever. I am suspecting I loosened a ground wire when pulling the wires around to get the switch out?

Re: Help soldering 3 way selector

Did you ground the chassis of your new selector switch? On a Switchcraft 90deg switch, this is the chunkier terminal between the two terminals where you soldered in your pickups.
