Here is.
So, they made a CS for Jake... but... that pickup alreqdy exist??? That's not a CS. Hehehe
Hmmm, very interesting. I didn't know anything about those. Based on that pic, my guess is there are a bunch of CS pickups that we have no clue about. At one time or another I bet Seymour has worked with just about every artist who has maintained some level of stained success over the years.
You can tell from the pic straight away that it has 12 adjustable pole pieces. I guess what we don't know is if it's jut a standard JB wind, a JB2 or some other kind of tweak. I literally could not find ANY info on these via google, other than he used an AH-1 prototype or a JB with an A2 magnet. Just the different magnet could make it a CS order. Someone like Jake wouldn't take time, probably, to change magnets himself. He might have a tech who could, but sometimes these guys just prefer to order through a Custom Shop.
I personally wouldn't have much use for this pickup, but I hope someone get's the specs from the CS so we can know.
As a side note, I sure would like to sit next MJ for a day and have her talk to me about all of the one off and custom pickups she has made over the years, and be able to say; "ok, build me one of those; naw, not that one; yep, I'll take one of those..." and go on all day. There would be more pickups than I could afford to buy, but it would be great to buy 10 or so.
Maybe when I'm back on my feet I can set something like that up. I know you can go take tours of the factory, but I bet with enough lead time planning you could arrange to sit with MJ for a couple of hours, while she worked.
Side note: the day we had at Users Day 2005 at the factory and getting to wind my own pickup was one of the best days I've had. Such a neat experience.
