I just got my strat in last night, ive been playing it all day its awesome. i bought it from musiciansfriend. it is a fender american stratocaster sunburst w/ maple fretboard and neck. i was just wondering, do the regular american strats have the 50th Anniversary Neck Plate or just the 50th anniversary? if not, what i got is a 50th anniversary, nothing wrong with that, i love the guitar and it sounds great, i just wanted to know. also, where can i check the serial number to find out for sure, if noone knows?

Re: help, strat ?.

all the American Series strats have a 50 year neck plate, to denote 50 years of strat production. that doesn't make it a 50th Anniversary strat. AFAIK, the Anniversary strat is an ash body, etc...
anyway, you have a regular American Series with this year's neck plate.

Awesome....Enjoy your new strat buddy...I remember Curly telling me about the 50th anniversary emblem on his strat when he bought it....Curly's the man and he knows!

Hence my screen name...Strats are my favorite...Been playing them since the 70s...It will soon become "The" only guitar you'll want to play..

I bought my Strat in July, but it's a leftover 2003 model that was on sale. I'd love to have a 2004 with the new neckplate, but my Strat feels great so I'll just have to live without it!
