Help: Tross Rod Ajustment?

I have a Aria Pro Mac II Series guitar with alder body and bolt on maple neck. I have not touched this guitar for about 6 months. When I opened the gig bag yesterday I have noticed that action was higher and floyd rose was tilted down towards the body. Guitar has a locking nut.

Question1: Can this be because truss rod has relived in this six months. Temperature changes might have caused this I guess.

Question2: If it is the truss rod, what are the steps I need to take in order to fix it my self? I am a newbie when it comes to floyd rose guitars.

Thank you all in advance.

hexkey? take the truss rod cover off then put hexkey(allen key w/e) and turn it...i forgot how much you should turn it or which direction you turn it in so yea :/

Re: Help: Tross Rod Ajustment?

So it is same as standard tremolo? Unlock the locking nut. Open truss rod cover. Loosen it up 1/8 turn (counter-clockwise) and tighten it up 1/8 turn at a time until it is set. Then tune it and lock the nut back on.

Do you think I am right with my diagnosis tough? Issue is the truss rod right?

Re: Help: Tross Rod Ajustment?

Tune the guitar to pitch then fret the 6th string at the highest and lowest fret simultaneously, check how far the string is off the 7th fret . THis is the relief and the exact distance is preference. A guitar with low action will 'almost' touch. I like a little space myself about .01" the thickness of my 1st string. If when you play the strings buzz when playing above the 12th fret you need to raise your bridge. If it buzzes on the open or low frets you need to give the neck more relief. Tightening the truss rod straightens the neck, loosening it gives more relief. Adjust it in small increments and continually recheck the distance. I capo the guitar at the first fret so I only need to use one hand to fret it at the other end.
Good luck
