What I'm looking for is a 20-30 watt tube amp, combo or head, 1x12, or possibly 2x12. I want something with good drive, and preferably reverb. Don't need an effects loop per say, but if it has one, no worries. The main thing I'm looking for however, is switchable power. Something that I can take 20 watts down to 7 or 10 etc. Not looking for boutique prices, just a quality amp at a good price. Currently I have a jet city 20 watt head, and a black heart 5 watt little giant head. Both are good and serve different needs, but I would like to consolidate and go with a really good one trick pony. Suggestions?

I meant to specify that. Basically I play classic rock, classic metal. Think motley Crüe, kiss, rush, ac dc etc. Budget would be maybe around 6-700 dollars.

Consider the Vox Night Train. Just 15W. Highly portable, highly versatile. No reverb, but I don't miss it, a delay pedal and you are done. Can go down to 7W on triode mode.
If you need more kick, use a 2x12" cab with highly efficient speakers, that at the end is what determines the final loudness.
Vox made also the bigger brother of 50W.

Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister 18. The 112 combo has reverb, the head does not. Switchable power from 18, 5, 1 watts and the option of silent recording through the Red Box out. Killer cleans and low gain crunch. Additional foot-switchable boost, that adds more gain and low end.
