Help with grounding short braided wire...

Greetings,

I am planning to install three Duncan mini humbuckers in a strat with typical strat wiring. One pickup is confronting me with a short lead with a braided ground that isn't long enough to reach the back of the first pot to ground it.

So my question is...any suggestions for getting that lead to reach ground? The core wire I can extend easily through splicing. Can I wrap another wire around the braid and solder it there, then run that to ground? I guess that would work, but I'm curious if there are any other suggestions on how to approach this.

Thanks for your time.

Yup. You can do what you said or get some braided wire from ampge.com and extend it that way.
